Do you love to spend time with children? Are you skilled in construction or just able to work hard? Has God blessed you with resources that you love to bless others with? These are all things that we need at CCBC! Read on for some of the ways that we could use volunteers, financial resources, and prayers. Don’t see something that fits you but you’re still interested in helping? Give us a call or email! We’d love to talk about how God might use you to make a difference in the lives of our campers (and have your own adventure with God too!).

Prayer

This ministry is God’s ministry and we have seen Him work in amazing ways- from the big things of lives being changed to the small details of having a waterslide to play on. We are totally dependent on Him and ask that you would keep this ministry in your prayers. Specifically:

  • Pray that God would provide the staff that are needed for our summer programs and for our long term needs
  • Pray for God’s direction and wisdom for the leadership of CCBC and our parent organization, Westland Bible Mission
  • Pray that all of our staff would faithfully share the Word of God and that His Word would not return void in the lives of our campers and staff
  • Pray that churches in our local communities would be encouraged by our ministry and that they would be made aware of the resources that we offer
  • Pray for safety for all those involved in our programs
  • Pray for financial provision for our ministry and for our campers
  • Pray for our campers, that they would know Christ and walk faithfully with Him and that God would work in their families, schools, and communities. Pray that they would develop friendships with other believers that would encourage them in their faith.

Camper Scholarships

CCBC is a great place for children and young adults to come and have a life changing encounter with God as well as have fun with other young people in a safe environment. We offer some of the lowest rates around for similar camping programs but some of our students still need assistance getting here. We have set up a scholarship fund to help families with difficult financial situations that prevent them from sending their students to camp. You can donate to this fund by check with the memo of Scholarship or you can use the PayPal donation button to the right. You can also donate in honor or memory of someone special to you. We try to make sure that all our donors to the scholarship fund get a thank you note from a student that they helped. You really do make a difference!

Summer Staff

All of our summer camping programs are primarily staffed by unpaid volunteers. Some of these volunteers are church youth groups who come to camp for a week. Some of our volunteers are college students or retired people who stay at camp for a whole summer. Some volunteers are families who come when they can to serve together. All of these people have one thing in common: they love Jesus and they are excited about sharing their passion for Him with the students who attend our camping programs. The ministry of CCBC would not be possible without these volunteers!

If you would be interested in volunteering as camp staff- as an individual or group, for a week or for a year- please get in touch with us! You can use the info on the Contact CCBC page or you can fill out our Staff Application. Thank you for your interest in having a great adventure with God at CCBC and working with Him to change lives!

Maintenance

We want to have a reputation for excellence in all that we do and we want to be good stewards of the resources God has given us to use in bringing students to know Him. The CCBC facilities currently include 6 buildings which sit on approximately 12 acres of land. Each year the grounds must be kept watered, mowed, weeded, and cleaned up. The buildings regularly need new stain or paint, cleaning, plumbing and electrical repaired or updated, windows and doors replaced, and all the other tasks that come with keeping things looking nice and functioning properly.

Volunteers are the biggest need in this area (although obviously this takes funds as well), especially in the early summer when we are gearing up for summer camping programs. If you would be interested in bringing a group or coming as an individual, please let us know on the Contact CCBC page.

Full Time Staff

We are currently praying for more people to join the ministry of CCBC full time. Full time staff are domestic missionaries which means this job doesn’t come with a guaranteed paycheck; staff are responsible for raising financial support from individuals and churches. We would like to add a program director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the camp and a maintenance director to help keep up with building and grounds upkeep. There are many opportunities in these positions to serve in the local communities as well. Please contact us if you feel God might be calling you to be a long term part of this ministry.

Dorm Bathroom Upgrade

The dorm bathrooms have not been updated in quite some time and the showers especially could use some help. We would like to update the bathrooms to make the plumbing more accessible in case of problems, to make them easier to clean, and to make the bathrooms nicer for those who use them.

This project was started in the summer of 2013. The girls’ dorm bathroom was totally updated with a tile shower room with 4 shower heads (with curtains for privacy) replacing the 3 small individual showers that were there. New toilets were installed and a lot of finish work was done in the basement to make things nicer. In the boys’ dorm, the same finish work was done and new toilets were installed. The boys’ dorm still needs to have the showers replaced with a tile room similar to the girls dorm. We need volunteers with experience in tiling to come help us finish up this project! If you would be interested, please let us know using the information on the Contact Us page.

Bunkhouse Renovation

The current bunkhouse is an old mobile house that we’ve retrofitted and built on to in order to create the 6 hotel style rooms that we currently have. 4 of the rooms do not have an attached bathroom and guests there must walk to the dining hall to use the facilities. We would like to completely rebuild the bunkhouse to be more convenient for those who stay there and provide more handicap accessible space. This project is in the very early planning and fundraising stage. Please let us know if you can help in any way.
